Isko laga dala, to life jingalala. Opensource Television programmes for about 400 bucks a month. I bought a Tatasky set tap bax and the diss andanaa for about 4000 bucks about a year back, and not for a single day I have been able to enjoy DVD quality picture and CD quality sound for 1 single day, and what I really get is DD (Doordarshan) quality picture, and Pirated CD quality sound.

I felt really bad one day and was wondering if I could have just stuck with the cable TV system which offered about 80 channels only but with appericiable quality and mono sound.

Last night there was a heavy rain in Pondichery, and I was trying to watch a Showcase Event, a movie called Naqaab. Sound wasn’t very good, Dont blame my TV, its not LCD or Plasma, but a very good CRT tv. When the rain became heavier and heavier, the signal just went off, and the tv screen started saying, No Signal.

I went on to shuffle some settings and found out that there was still about 80% signal strength, but the signal quality is 0. What a pity. A 4 ft Dish antenna cant pickup frequencies in GHz just because of some heavy rain. Electronics guys should know that frequencies in GHz, or Microwaves dont really get affected by anything.

Well, that was a Showcase event wasted. And time. And money ofcourse. You get DVD quality Picture only from your DVD player, and CD quality sound only from your CD player.

I wonder what DishTV has got to offer.
