More information in Symbol BarcodesDuring the earlier lives of the digital equipments that came into being on this planet, bar codes were invented to easily label things and pick them back from storage. This found its best application in super markets where each product is given a serial number, and that is stuck as a barcode on the product, and at the billing counter the clerk just needs to scan the barcode and the information of the product is pulled out on to the screen.
But as technology advances, it is being possible to put in more information into bar codes, which are much more complex these days than just vertical bars of varying widths, each representing a number. Symbol bar codes are computer generated and can be read only by a symbol barcode scanner, and can contain a lot of information, almost all the information that a computer information would have, this would thereby save a lot of database space perhaps.
